The World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions was an invitational freerollpoker event held from 2004–2006. Wins in this event do not count as official WSOP bracelets, but the winner receives a large trophy in the shape of the official World Series of Poker logo.
The 2004 tournament involved ten players with the winner. Annie Duke receiving 2 million dollars. No other positions were paid.
The 2005 tournament was rife with controversy as prior to the event, Harrah’s advertised that to qualify a player would need to win any World Series of Poker circuit events or by reaching the final table of the 2005 WSOP $10,000 no limit Texas hold ’em championship event. Despite this qualification, under the pressure of the corporate sponsor Pepsi, Harra’s Casino allowed Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, and Johnny Chan to compete. Mike Matusow won the million dollar prize. World Poker Tour commentator Mike Sexton won the million dollar prize in 2006, defeating a field of 27 players.Wsp Antioch

An annual celebrity event was changed in 2007, as it became a pro and celeb event called ’Ante Up for Africa’, hosted by actor Don Cheadle and poker pro Annie Duke. The 2007 event attracted 167 celebrities and poker stars. The final two players, Dan Shak and Brandon Moran, agreed to share first place and donate all prize money to charities in Darfur.[1] Their actions set a precedent as the 2008 champions, John Hennigan and second-place finisher Michael DeGusta again donated 100% of their winnings to the charity.[2]Jeffrey Pollack, the WSOP commissioner, said, the WSOP was ’delighted to once again host Ante Up For Africa at the World Series of Poker”[2] Alex Bolotin won the third annual tournament defeating a final table that included Phil Gordon, Chris Ferguson, Rafe Furst, and Erik Seidel.World Series of Rock Paper Scissors[edit]

The All-In Energy Tournament was an invitational poker event at the 2008 WSOP for people who 1) purchased 16 cases of All-In Energy drink online, 2) purchased the most drinks during a designated time period, or 3) won an invitation via a sweepstake.[9] The event was officially held and recognized as All-In Energy Drink was an official sponsor of the WSOP.Champion of Champions[edit]
In 2009, a tournament for the WSOP Main Event Champions was introduced for the 40th Anniversary of the WSOP. This tournament was a freeroll wherein the winner won a Corvette and the ’Binion’s Cup’ named after the Binion Family who founded and ran the WSOP for decades. The event was won by 1983 WSOP Champion Tom McEvoy who defeated 2002 World Champion Robert Varkonyi heads-up to win the Binion’s Cup.Caesars Cup[edit]
The Caesars Cup is a poker tournament, inspired by golf’s Ryder Cup, which pits some of the biggest names in poker from Europe and The Americas against each other in a series of heads-up and team-based poker matches across a single day. The contest is expected to be held annually, with the venue alternating between Europe and North America. INTRODUCTION
*Dennis Nick Rash
*Dennis Nikrasch Obituary
*Dennis Nikrasch
I’ve recently stumbled upon a Youtube video called, “Las Vegas: The Cat and Mouse Game-Cheating Vegas,” which I will link to here:
This video is brought to us by a documentary channel called, “TRACKS,” and has nearly 200,000 subscribers as of the time of this writing, so I decided to do a review so you can decide if the nearly 48 minutes is worth your time.
Dennis Nikrasch. Over a 22-year period, Dennis Nikrasch cheated Las Vegas slot machines out of around $16 million. Using the tools and know-how he gained by working as a locksmith in Chicago, Nikrasch was able to open up a slot machine, place a computer chip inside that would help him win and close it up in less than a minute.
I should also mention that this documentary was very likely on TV, at some point. I believe this for two reasons:
*When Dennis Nikrasch was born in 1941 his name was Dennis McAndrew, but rumor has it that he took his mother’s maiden name of Nikrasch after his parents got divorced. Little is known about his childhood, but many people speculate that he dropped out of school before he hit high school.
*Dennis Nikrasch was born in 1941. Also known as Dennis McAndrew, he has been labeled as the greatest slot machine cheater of all time. He was behind several cheating rings that operated mainly in Nevada and Atlantic City, and was so prolific that the Nevada Gaming Control Board stated he was a threat to the whole slot machine industry.
*According to the video description, TRACKS licensed the rights to this from an entity called CINEFLIX.
*The length is about right for an hour long TV program with four three-minute sets of commercial breaks.
I almost never watch TV, though, but as you might expect, my Youtube recommendations frequently include gambling-related videos.WHERE’S THE CHEATING?
The first thing I would want prospective viewers to know is that the title is pretty misleading, at least, if you’re somewhat gambling savvy. When I think of casino cheating, I think of past posting, marking cards, collusion, etc. etc.
The different segments covered in this include:
*Counterfeit Casino Chips
*Straight Armed Robbery
*Dealer Collusion (Finally, Cheating!)
*Slot Tampering
We’re going to go ahead and break each section of this down for this review, followed by my thoughts on each section. I’m going to give warning now that there ARE SPOILERS AHEAD, in fact, I’ll basically be saying what happens in each segment.Erik Morikawa and Jeremy Lewis
The first section of the video deals with Erik Morikawa and Jeremy Lewis, two then construction workers who figured out a way to counterfeit casino chips.
Construction projects had dwindled in the Vegas area when Erik Morikawa drove past a casino billboard (featuring a high-denomination chip) and came up with the idea that chips ARE money to a casino and should be easier than money to counterfeit.
The original idea was just to straight up make counterfeit casino chips. Eventually, Morikawa, Lewis (and a handful of others) determined that it was hard to get the precise composite substance right that casino chips are made of. Casino chips are made of a unique combination of elements resulting in a particular weight, feel in the hands..and, of course, that light clacking sound that every table/poker player is so familiar with when dropped or clicked together.
The individuals working on the project became increasingly frustrated, particularly when they could match the weight but not get the chips to make the right sound. Honestly, it probably would have taken a chemist to reverse-engineer the precise composite of substances needed..not to mention the conditions needed to press them appropriately.
With exception to Morikawa and Lewis, all involved got frustrated and gave up on the venture. The remaining pair eventually hatched a plan to the extent that chips would be easier to modify than create from nothing. After all, it was creating the physical chip base that presented the biggest problem.
You can watch the video for yourself if you want more details, but eventually, the pair discovered that it was not difficult to get the inlay marking the casino and denomination out of the chips to be replaced with a new one. The new inlays were a simple matter of scanning them into a computer and printing them out on paper lined with plastic, then you basically just glue them in place. The question then became one of changing the physical chip itself.
Much like the inlays themselves, the colors were easy for a, “Close enough,” type match by trying different color combinations out and seeing what came out. They at least got them to the point that they would pass in low casino light as long as the chips weren’t examined ridiculously closely..and what casino employee has time to look at chips under a magnifying glass? You basically just needed the chips to be passable to the naked eyeball.
One problem was that some casinos had designs that would appear only under a black light. It turned out that these designs were relatively reproducible using only glow in the dark art supplies. Secondly, these designs seemed to be randomly positioned on the chips, (at least, for this casino) so that eliminated any need to have the location of the watermark be passable..it could basically be anywhere in the inlay.
The pair started off with three $100 chips that they were able to pass off at the cage easily enough. According to the documentary, they were able to convert some twenty chips per day from $1 denomination to $100..or whatever else they wanted.
They decided to go with, “Whatever else.”
Eventually, they reached the point where they were counterfeiting denominations as high as $1,000 chips. They ultimately decided that just coming in and cashing chips was going to look fishy, so they made the decision to, ‘Wash,’ the chips by cashing them in at table games and giving a little play. You might ask yourself: What’s the difference between going to the cage with unexplained chips and going to a table with unexplained high denomination chips?
At least, I asked myself that.
We now reach the point where, “Consider the source,” becomes important as the documentary only really talks to Morikawa and not Jeremy Lewis. Basically, Morikawa was living more-or-less in an under the radar way other than some lavish purchases outside of casinos. In the meantime, according to Morikawa, Lewis was partying it up in casino suites to the tune of several hundred dollars a light surrounding himself with ladies.
Eventually, Lewis would basically spill the beans on the operation to one of these ladies of questionable repute, whereas, Morikawa did not even disclose the source of this newfound money to his wife..not that she wanted to know.
This resourceful young woman would eventually blackmail the pair for money in exchange for not blabbing about their capers. As with most forms of blackmail, it started off reasonably small and got bigger. The problem with blackmail on an event like this is that it is information-based blackmail that does not involve a physical item..such as a videotape.
In other words, the dirt never disappears. You give the blackmailer money, but the blackmailer still has something on you.
The boyfriend of the blackmailer eventually found himself in some trouble, and apparently, this young lady was able to roll on the pair in order to help him out. It’s not really made clear what one situation had to do with the other.
Bail for the pair was initially set at five million bucks, but later reduced to $12,000. During his time in jail, Morikawa would become acquainted with some other criminal types who he agreed to teach how to do what he did in exchange for a cut.
Morikawa would be caught again later on down the line and would be sentenced to five years of probation and to make restitution of $36,000. This was quite a deal considering Morikawa places the total in counterfeit chips cashed at about a million dollars.
From this, RFID (Radio Frequency ID) chips would make their way into casino chips so that they can at least be tracked until they leave the casino. Counterfeit high-denomination chips would either not have such a chip at all, or will have one that doesn’t match up quite right.TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS SEGMENT
*The first thing that we have going on is greed. They may well still be cashing $100 counterfeit chips to this day if they had been reasonable, spread it around and were willing to somewhat limit their weekly/monthly take. People travel to Vegas with tens of thousands of dollars with some frequency, so for most casinos, no cage is going to bat an eye at a couple or three hundred dollar chips.
*I think that the pair also, “Outsmarted themselves,” because washing the chips by playing game seems completely unnecessary..particularly so if they had just stuck to hundreds. In my opinion, this just adds time in the casino and results in more people physically dealing with the chips than does simply cashing them at the cage. It was also noticed by at least one dealer that a few of the chips didn’t look quite right in the rack.
*I don’t recommend committing crimes at all, but if you insist, then keep your operation small and don’t tell anyone outside of the operation about it. Blackmail is forever. It’s not like someone with information that could hypothetically put you away for years is going to disappear for $500 never to be seen again. You pretty much have to accept that you’re going to be paying them forever, or..well, let’s not go there.
*Keep your spending on the lowdown. Seriously. Buy groceries, or something. Here you have a couple of basically out of work (or limited work) construction workers suddenly making bank. It’s one thing to just live day-to-day life without being able to explain yourself, but dropping a thousand bucks a day partying and being a known personage just isn’t going to fly.ANTHONY “TONY” CARLEO
That brings us to the second segment of the documentary, which deals with Anthony Carleo, “The Biker Bandit.” This segment has nothing to do with any kind of cheating; the events in question involve straight up armed robbery.
The advantage (not in the gambling sense) that Carleo had, at least at Suncoast Casino, is that the casino staff were unarmed. Concerned with employee safety (and legal liability) the policy of that casino was, and likely still is, just to let someone robbing the cage have the money. Another advantage that Carleo had was that the casino cage was about ten seconds from an exit.
Carleo, with motorcycle helmet and visor, walked into the Suncoast Casino and robbed the cage at gunpoint. That’s it. Would you call a bank robbery, “Cheating at the bank?” I wouldn’t. I don’t see what this has to do with casino cheating.
Carleo would commit his second robbery just five short days later.
Carleo would go on to rob the Bellagio (!?), though he would encounter an unexpected problem. The problem is that the cage was nowhere near an exit, and one key part of his plan was a quick in and a quick exit---hence the motorcycle. With that in mind, Carleo would instead opt to rob one of the tables of $5,000 and $25,000 chips..good as cash if you’re in Vegas.
The RFIDs were in place by this time, the problem being that they only worked inside of the casino. That was (temporarily) a darn good thing for Carleo, otherwise, they could have followed him right home.
I don’t know if you’ve ever heard the phrase, “Never return to the scene of the crime,” but Carleo not only did that--he made himself a very welcomed guest at the scene of the crime. Carleo states that he intended to only grab $5,000 chips, or less (still seems arbitrary), but accidentally ended up with a bunch of cranberries, as well. That would become a serious problem as Bellagio opted to discontinue the denomination.
Carleo would state that he became quite the prolific poker player at The Bellagio, routinely losing anywhere from $70,000-$100,000 per night. He would state that, even though the chips had been stolen anyway, the losses still hurt.
Unbeknownst to Bellagio, they would turn the other cheek by making Carleo a heavily comped player, extending to him an Executive Suite and other perks.
We also learn about Carleo, hardly a career criminal, he was the son of a judge in Las Vegas as well as a one-time student of UNLV who intended to become a physician. Eventually, he would develop a gambling problem and found himself involved in all sorts of things as, even then, he was gambling way too frequently and way too over his head. The, “Biker Bandit,” plan..if it can really be called that..was hatched basically out of necessity.
Carleo intended to throw away the, “Cranberry,” $25,000 chips as they had become impossible to cash or exchange for lower denomination chips. Instead, he decided to sell them online for $10,000 apiece.
Can you imagine?

Has anyone ever thought, “I’m going to willingly take a $15,000 haircut on these casino chips to get someone else to cash them because going back to Vegas is too much of a hassle?” The closest thing I’ve ever had to that is I’ve been straight up given a few (low value) chips to a casino for free because I was already going there. I think I also paid $50 for about $100 in chips once, just because the casino in question was about six hours away and I was already planning to go there.
But, even worse, Carleo was still in Las Vegas!!!
So, is that the dumbest thing ever?
Not yet. He advertised himself as, “The Biker Bandit,” in promoting the sale.
Naturally, he was caught. One funny thing was a Gaming Enforcement employee was interviewed and basically said if someone thinks they can rob a casino without getting caught they are, “Sadly mistaken.”
Um..yeah..,if you think you can rob a casino, and advertise that you did it, without getting caught, you’re sadly mistaken. He’d have probably gotten away with the Suncoast robbery, in my opinion.TAKEAWAYS
1. This is another tale of greed and also going back to the criminal cookie jar one too many times. I’m reminded of an episode of a documentary series, “I Almost Got Away With It,” actually a few episodes..of bank robbers who had really solid plans and eventually just got themselves caught because of volume.
One just did it too many times and the other had a reasonably unique car that became known..they caught the second guy because they knew he was casing a particular bank before he even did it.
2. More greed with trying to sell the chips after they had been taken out of circulation.
Imagine going into a stockroom at WalMart and stealing exactly 37 Toshiba TV’s, then going online only days later and advertising that you have as many as 37 Toshiba TV’s for sale. The only way Carleo could have made himself easier to catch would be by going to the nearest police station and confessing his crime.
3. Don’t return to the scene of the crime. Especially don’t return to the scene of the crime with evidence of your guilt. I can’t even believe he managed to get away floating the 5k chips all over the place. He really should have been caught much earlier.
4. At least the Suncoast robbery was technically a plan. It wasn’t a great plan and it counted on a lot of potential variables not to happen..but it was a plan. He didn’t plan at The Bellagio, he decided he wasn’t going to waste his precious time walking in without stealing something and improvised.
5. DON’T TALK!!! If you must commit armed robbery, and I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I believe you shouldn’t, maybe don’t tell literally the entire Internet about it and lead them directly to you. Just a thought.JAMES SHEHADY
In the third segment, we get into a crime that at least directly involves a casino game and cheating!
The segment does a reasonable job of explaining the rules of Pai-Gow Poker, at least, to the extent they are relevant. Relevantly, there is a high hand and a low hand, the low hand consists of two cards (and cannot be better than the high hand) and the high hand consists of the best five card poker hand. If the player and dealer both fail to win both hands, then the result is a push. The dealer also wins if both hands are a tie, but that’s quite rare.
At the Hard Rock Casino, under the alias, “Clifton Burton,” James Shehady was a relatively well-known Pai-Gow Poker player to the casino. He was so well-known, in fact, that it was noticed that he never lost on Sundays. Any other day..you guessed it..he wasn’t quite as lucky.
This determination was made just by way of player tracking, which made the casino pretty suspicious before the cheat was out.
The cheat was collusion between Shehady and a five-year tenured dealer who otherwise had a pretty good record as an employee. It’s tough to know for sure, but the documentary lends you to the assumption that he literally never lost any hands.
The way it would work is the dealer would do a, “Quick Spread,” of the high hand after Shehady indicated to the dealer (via some hand or high motion) that he was beat. The quick spread was done in such a way that the dealer’s hand largely obscured Shehady’s high hand from camera view..and was also done quickly so it would have to be watched back anyway even if all the cards were visible in a frame.
Winning hands win, pushes push, loses push..sounds like a game I would like, if not for the whole straight up theft thing.
As far as the cheat itself went, the casino manager received an, “Anonymous Tip,” that there was a player colluding with the dealer in order to defraud the casino.
PLOT TWIST: The anonymous tip came from the dealer who was just trying to get out from under Shehady’s thumb. Shehady had given the dealer the (false) impression that he had connections to organized crime and that the dealer would very likely have an, “Accident,” if he ever stopped working with Shehady?
So, how did the dealer start?
Essentially, the dealer was himself a hardcore gambler who had racked up considerable debts. One of these debts was to an employee of the Hard Rock’s Sportsbook who himself owed Shehady money directly. The original arrangement was that they would help Shehady cheat only until such time that everyone was all settled up which probably would have only taken a session or two.
The not-as-bad guy won in the end as the dealer was not charged in exchange for testifying against career criminal Shehady.TAKEAWAYS
1. That’s just how it goes. An important lesson for anyone considering crime is that crime is usually not a short-term affair. Much like the unwitting dealer turned accomplice, you’ll end up getting locked into it by one means or another. For Shehady, crime was just a way of life.
Anyway, the dealer was probably of the impression that if one goes down they both go down. That in conjunction with not wanting to die was enough to keep him in the game. I would assume he thought about getting himself put on a different game, as he certainly couldn’t quit his job, (without getting kil

The lowest numbered horse has the best chance of winning each race, while the highest numbered horse has the least chance of winning. A new race occurs every four minutes, and can be played at any PA Lottery retailer that sells Draw Games or watched live, in person, at select retailers. Horse Race Game To play, you need a pair of dice, a deck of cards, and the Horse Race game board! From the deck of cards, discard the aces, kings, and jokers, leaving you with 44 cards. Shuffle and deal these cards. Each player will not necessarily receive the same amount of.on
Horse race (or “horserace”) is a popular card game/drinking game. Gamblers love it. If you’ve never played it before, or if someone else has suggested that you play, and you don’t remember the rules — this post is for you. It explains how to play the card game horse race in detail.
*Horse Race Betting in India – The Online Indian Race Satta Guide. Horse racing in India has been a popular sport for more than two centuries. One of the first racetracks was set up in Madras, where the sport is still massively popular today.India’s horse race industry has nine racecourses, managed by six Indian horse racing authorities.
*Our advice would be to come up with bankers for some of the races, and this helps with making an in play horse racing betting strategy pay too. In big fields where the betting is wide open, meanwhile, put in two or more selections. Ultimately you control how much you want to.
It’s traditional for the players to bet drinks on each of the aces. But you could bet money on the appearance of the aces, too.
I explain further below. How to Get Ready for a Game of Horse Race
You’ll need a standard deck of 52 playing cards. You can find these at any convenience store. Nicer decks are fun to play with, and I prefer plastic playing cards like Kem, but you can use a cheap deck that costs 50 cents or less if you like.
Another option is to ask the local casino to give you one of their used decks of cards. They usually have a hole drilled in the middle, or their corners cut off so that you can’t sneak them into the game at the casino.
But neither of those countermeasures prevents you from using them to play horse race.
You then decide which player is going to be the announcer. He’s really the only person in the game who actually does anything. He prepares by going through the deck and taking out the aces. Each ace represents a horse.
He lays the horses up at the end of the table to represent gates. The cards are laid face up and next to each other. If you imagine how the gates at a horse race look, then you’re on the right track.
Then the announcer shuffles the deck and deals an arbitrary number (often 6, 7, or 8) of face-down cards in a straight line at a right angle to the row of aces. You’ll find up with an L-shaped layout of playing cards, with the links (the face-down cards) forming one side of the L, and the aces (face-up) forming the other side of the L.
Now you’re ready to play. How to Bet in Horse Race
Betting can be easy or complicated, depending on how seriously you’re taking the game.
You can just bet on which suit is going to win.
You might bet a flat amount on spades to win. What horse won the grand national last year.
But if you’re interested in horse racing, you know that there are all kinds of other bets available, such as:
*Daily doubles
*Exactas
*TrifectasCommon Bets in Horse Racing
Here’s a list of the most common bets in horse racing and what they mean.
*Win is just a bet on which horse wins the race.
*Place is a bet that a specific horse will win first or second place.
*Show is a bet that a specific horse will win first, second, or third.
*Across the board consists of three bets, one each on win, place, and show.
*Exacta is a bet on which two horses will place first and second. These must win in that order.
*Trifecta is a bet on which three horses will place first, second, and third, in order.
*Superfecta is a bet on which four horses will place first, second, third, and fourth, in order.
Those are the most common bets, but there are plenty of others.
In a lot of games, though, players just choose their suit, and they have a payout set for first, second, and third place, as follows:
*First place gets 25
*Second place gets 20
*Third place gets 15
Sometimes, you’ll also see players make proposition bets, like who’s going to be the first horse out of the gate. You can even penalize a player if he bets on a horse that never gets out of the starting gate.
It’s customary to have betting limits, too. Otherwise, you’d wind up with goofballs betting 150 on spades or something like that. How To Bet On Horses
When you’re playing horse race as a drinking game, it’s customary for the winner to distribute drinks equal to the amount he bet. It’s also customary for the winner to not have to drink. (For an old alcoholic like me, that’s not much of a win.)How Horse Race Is Played
Gameplay in horse race is ridiculously simple.
The announcer starts the race by flipping over the top card of the cards left in the deck. He looks at the suit of that card, and that’s the ace that gets to move forward to that link. A good announcer will narrate the action with verve and vigor, and if you have a good crowd of players, you’ll have plenty of people cheering and booing the action.
The announcer keeps flipping cards in order, advancing the horses based on the suits of the cards being flipped over. The first horse to pass through the last link into the winner’s circle is the winning horse.
In some games, the optional rule for faltering is used. If a horse moves up to a new link for the first time, the announcer flips over the card that represents that link. The suit on that card must fall back one link.
Since there’s only a single card representing each link, this only can happen the first time a horse gets to that link.
This adds an additional layer of randomness to the game, which can be equal parts frustrating and exciting.
Also, if a horse is still in the gate, it can’t be knocked further back because of faltering.
You’ll even see some games with a rule for stumbling. In these games, the joker is left in the deck, so you’re playing with a 53-card deck instead of a 52-card deck. If the joker gets flipped over, all the horses (except for the lead horse) get to move up one link.Betting for Real Money at the Card Game Horse
The announcer takes the bets and pays out the winners. He sets the odds, and the trick is to set the odds so that he has a reasonable chance to make a profit. The players also need to find the odds attractive enough to place bets on those propositions.
In games where you play for real money, the links are played face up so that you know the suits that are out there. The more cards of a suit that are already on the table, the less likely it will be for the horse of that suit to win the race.Free Horse Racing Games
Do you see why?
You have the aces for each suit at one end of the table already.
That leaves 12 cards of each suit.
Let’s say you have eight links, two of each suit. That leaves ten cards of each suit in the deck. Each ace has the same probability of winning.
But suppose you have four hearts in the links, two clubs, one spade, and one club.
Clubs and spades are tied as favorites to win the horse race because there are still nine of each card left in the deck.
The hearts are a big underdog because there are only six hearts left in the deck.
These are common odds based on how many cards of each suit have been laid out with seven links:
*If no cards of a suit are out there, then winning pays even money.
*If one card of a suit is out, winning pays off at 2 to 1.
*If two cards of a suit are out, winning pays off at 3 to 1.
*If three cards of a suit are out, winning pays off at 5 to 1.
*If four cards of a suit are out, winning pays off at 10 to 1.
*If five cards of a suit are already dealt, the cards are re-shuffled, and new links are dealt.Calcutta Horse Race
On the excellent card game site Pagat, a variation called Calcutta is described. The rules are based on Calcutta auctions, like the ones held at the Melbourne Cup. You need at least three players for this variation, but six to eight players is better. Also, each player should start with the same amount of money.
In Calcutta, you cut cards to choose who’s going to be the announcer. The highest card gets to announce. The announcer can participate just like the other players. How To Play Horse Racing Board Game
He’s also responsible for being the auctioneer. The auction is what makes this variation of horse race so interesting.
After the aces are removed from the deck, the rest of the deck gets shuffled. The announcer deals out the seven cards that make up the links of the course. If five cards (or more) of a single suit are dealt, he has to re-shuffle and re-deal.
The announcer also sorts these cards by suit. This makes it easier to see which horse has an advantage, which is important for deciding how much you want to bid during the auction. It’s customary to put these in order from most cards to least to make it as easy as possible to differentiate the suits.
The aces are auctioned off beginning with the longshots, just like at the Melbourne Cup. The longshot is the suit which has the most cards dealt out in the links. Remember, that’s the suit that has the fewest cards left in the deck.
The bidding in the auction starts with a single unit — usually one chip if you’re playing with chips. (I suggest trying this with clay poker chips, by the way. They’re much more satisfying to play with than plastic chips.)
Players can bid at any time. If you’ve run an auction in a game like Monopoly, you already know how this goes. Each horse (ace) is sold to the highest bidder. That money goes into the pool. The player who wins that horse gets the ace to show that he owns that horse.
The game is played normally until a first- and second-place winner are determined. The owner of the first-place horse gets 2/3 of the pot. The owner of the second-place horse gets 1/3 of the pot.
If you can’t divide the pot by three, you round the winnings off to the nearest whole number. This will result in either one or two extra chips being left in the pot. If there’s only one chip left, it goes to the first-place winner. If there are two chips left, each player gets one of them.Other Racing-Themed Card Games
This is the most common betting game version of the card game horse race that I know of, but it’s actually part of a larger category of card games called racing games.
In most card games with a racing theme, the cards themselves don’t actually race. Instead, a marble or a peg is moved around a board of some kind.
You could play Parcheesi with cards instead of dice.
Sorry! is a classic example of a racing game, too. It uses a proprietary deck of cards numbered from 1 through 12 (there are no 6s or 9s, though). The deck also has “sorry” cards which allow you to change places with one of the other players in the race. How To Play Horse Racing Games Tabletop
Of course, if you’re using cards, you can deal players a hand of cards so that they have some choice in which card to play. This can convert a racing game that is just a game of chance into a game with an element of skill.
Other games in this category include Fast Track, Pegs and Jokers, and Tock. Conclusion
And that’s how you play the popular card game horse race. There are enough variations that it can be played differently from one game to another. Next time you’re at a home poker game, you should give it a try.
I like the versions where you bet real money instead of playing it as a drinking game. For one thing, gambling should be about money, and drinking should be about alcohol. I don’t want to mix the two.
For another thing, gambling is all about fun.
Drinking is serious business.
Those are just my opinions, though — you play the way you want to.Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus. What is the best bet in horse racing?

Do you want to win at Internet Casinos using secret Blackjack Strategy?
My name is Thomas Fields. I created this website after winning over $5000 dollars at the online casinos playing blackjack. I want to teach you the very same methods I used to beat the casinos: Online Casino Blackjack Strategy. To date, players using my site are up over $10,000 at the casinos I have recommended. How do I know this? Well, the casinos send me reports on the players that have clicked on the links in my site. What’s in it for me you ask? I get paid to send traffic to the casinos, regardless of whether you win or lose. I hope you win!
Now, I can’t guarantee your results will be the same as mine, but if you follow my 10 Steps to Winning, you will have a mathematical advantage to win money. You may be asking how can this be, the casino’s would never allow the player to have an advantage. Well, the fact is, the casinos don’t believe players are disciplined enough to follow these steps. Why should you consider gambling online?
Quite simple. The odds are much better, and most of the online casinos give you an introductory bonus varying from 100% to 200% match. Online casinos do not have the same expenses as offline casinos, therefore, they can afford to have better odds and comps. The introductory bonus match is the force behind my method of cheating the casinos. My goal is to simply win the bonus money from the casino and then moving on to the next victim. By winning $100 -$200 per casino, you can win lots of cash. Can you trust Online Casinos?
Many of my friends tell me they won’t gamble online because they are afraid the games are fixed or aren’t fair. They believe the online casinos are a scam. I understand the concerns. Let me explain some of the protection these casinos provide. First, most of the casinos do not own their own software. They lease the software from a separate company. Some of the software companies are even public. These software companies stake their reputation on accurate gaming portrayal. While I can not prove that the online casino play is a true portrayal of the games, I believe them to be accurate. At least, the casinos recommended on my site have been personally reviewed and my analysis shows an accurate reflection of the game play. On top of that, all casinos must have a gambling license from the government in the country where they run their business. The decks, cards, rules, chances, risks, are all the same as in land based casinos. Sc online gambling. In other words, a good blackjack strategy will work perfectly in both places. Visit http://www.casinon.eu/blackjack for more info about strategies.Do Online Casinos pay up?
Another reason my friends hesitated to gamble is because they were afraid the casino wouldn’t pay up. However, during the past year, I have gambled at over 100 casinos. I have won a profit at 70 casinos with a total win of just over $5000. I have NEVER been stiffed by any of the casinos I have played. This is not to say that there aren’t bad casinos out there, but if you stick with the big online casinos, you should get paid. Every casino on my site has personally sent me a check.
People also ask me if it’s legal to gamble online. Well, Congress still hasn’t decided yet. While I am no lawyer, I can tell you I have never heard of anyone being charged with gambling online (although, it IS illegal to operate an online casino in the US – that’s why they are all offshore.)
Finally – is there really such a thing as an online casino blackjack strategy? Absolutely! The odds online are really much better than offline. I try to present all information in a clear, concise matter, but some people want some more help. Feel free to E-mail me at any time if you have any questions. *Highest Quality Online Blackjack Software

Our seal of approval does not come easily. In order for real money blackjack online casinos to get our nod, they need to be at the top of their game. We require online casinos to offer the safest, securest, and most trusted gaming services out there. And if that’s not enough, their games and the gaming experience better be off the charts.
Here are a handful of the reasons why these casinos made our list of the best online real money blackjack casinos.Favorable Rules and Real Money Payout Odds
Ask an experienced blackjack player, and they’ll quickly tell you that not all blackjack games are created equally. When we’re looking for where to play blackjack online, we look for sites that have the most favorable rules for players.
While the house will always have the edge, this increases your chances of walking away a winner. There’s no reason to make things easier on them.
These favorable rules include:
*Blackjack that pays 3/2 instead of 6/5
*The ability for the player to surrender
*Minimal limitations on splitting hands
If you’d like to learn more about some of these rules (and how to use them to your advantage), check out our incredibly comprehensive blackjack guide. Highest Quality Blackjack Software
Graphics, animations, sounds, experience, and user controls—these are just the start of the list of factors we analyze when determining the top real money online blackjack games. You see, an online casino can be safe, secure, and have the best customer service on the planet, but if the games are crummy, what’s the point? You won’t find any online blackjack options on our list that don’t offer game quality that will knock your socks off. Online Blackjack Deposit Bonuses and Rewards
In the current state of the industry, you should be rewarded for trying out new real money blackjack sites and for your loyalty at the sites you love. While this is not the first place we look, we do spend a considerable amount of time shopping for the best blackjack bonuses and rewards to present to you. Some of the more common rewards we look for include:
*Deposit bonuses
*Cashback or loss return bonuses
*Free hands of blackjack
*Match bonuses
*VIP rewards programs
Not only do we look for the existence of these blackjack bonuses, but we vet them for quality.
*How easy are they to clear?
*Do they have any predatory terms attached?
*How big is the playthrough requirement?
*Are there any terms that would make the bonus unusable or unfavorable to the average player?
Answering these questions is much more important than taking a tunnel-vision approach to looking for the online gambling bonus with the biggest dollar amount out front. Multiple Blackjack Variations to Choose From
Vegas dave in jail. Just as not every real money blackjack casino site is made equal, not every blackjack game is the same. While the exact number is unknown, there are believed to be over 100 different variations of the game. Although the premise is the same across the board, some rules and nuances will differ. Whether you’re looking for classic blackjack or something more unique like Spanish 21, Chinese Blackjack, or Ante Up 21 Blackjack, we want you to be covered.
We’ll only recommend online casino sites that offer multiple popular variations of real money blackjack. Even if you never end up playing them, it’s good to know that the options are present.Blackjack at the Casino vs. Real Money Blackjack Online
Chances are, a large number of you here are considering playing blackjack online for the first time. Most likely, you’re used to playing the game in the casino in person, but you’re curious how that compares with real money blackjack online. Here’s what you need to know.
*You’ll never have to wait for a seat when you play blackjack online.
*The minimum stakes offered online are much lower than they are in person. You’ll be able to play real money blackjack for as low as $0.01 per hand!
*Rewards bonuses are more attainable for players of all levels, including low-limit recreational players.
*Bonus tracking is done automatically. No more making sure the pit boss sees your wagers.
*Playing online blackjack gives you control of the gaming environment, no more worrying about intoxicated people, smoke, noise, or unwanted disruptions.
The bottom line is, playing blackjack for real money online is wildly more convenient than playing in person. You don’t have to worry about driving to the casino, fighting traffic, parking, going to the ATM, and waiting to find a seat at the stakes you want to play. If you like the wild action of the casino, though, you won’t get that unless you recreate the action yourself. Can I Make Real Money Playing Blackjack Online?
You most certainly can make money playing blackjack online. There is no difference in your opportunity to make money playing online as there is at the land-based casinos you’re used to. You will need to electronically deposit and withdraw money from your casino account, as computers still can’t print money. Thankfully, this is easily accomplished through many different online casino banking options. Popular banking options for US players:

“Social casino games” are the top-level category name given to blackjack games that are not being run by a casino. Typically, you’ll find these on social media like Facebook or in an app store targeting users of all ages. Online Real Money Blackjack FAQAre the Odds of Winning Different at Online Blackjack Sites Than They Are at In-Person Casinos?
No, the odds of winning in person playing blackjack or winning when playing online will be exactly the same. The only things that change your odds of winning are how well you play, the format of the game you’re playing, and the ruleset the casino uses. NCAA divides most of its sports into three divisions: Division 1 (D1), Division 2 (D2), and Division 3 (D3). Divisions have been put in place to level the playing field by pairing similar sized programs in competition. Every school chooses what division it wants to play in, but must meet specific NCAA division standards and generally must play in the same division for all sports. Most athletes and their families are familiar with D1 sports because those are usually televised. However, only a very small percentage of high school athletes will play at the D1 level - in football, only 1 in 100 high school players actually play D1 football. Playing football at any level is actually mostly similar, but different divisions will lead to some different experiences. You should know the differences between the divisions if you are going through the recruiting process.
With National Signing Day less than 24 hours away, prospects and schools around college football are in a mad dash to get all their seats filled before the music stops playing. With so much movement over such a small time frame, it can be a very confusing time. In speaking with sub-FBS coaches, one of. There are four levels of college football in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, but the one that really matters is the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). If you’re scoring at home, the. Football is evolving and those overseeing the sport are recognizing it needs to be made safer for the well-being of its players. In an attempt to address this, the NFL and NCAA have implemented.
While there are clear differences in the average school in each division, there is significant overlap between the top of each division and the bottom of the next division up. In every category, the experience at top schools in one division is similar to an average school the next division up, and the bottom schools in each division are similar to an average school the next division down.
The NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) are a set of schools that by definition have varsity football teams. They are distinguished by those in the Division 1 Football Championship (FCS) Division by the following: FBS programs differ in Athletic Scholarship headcount, and may offer scholarships to 85 athletes. By definition, all schools in this grouping have varsity football teams. Schools in Division I FBS are distinguished from those in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) by the following: FBS programs are allowed to provide scholarship aid to a total of 85 players, and may grant a full scholarship to all 85. FCS schools are.Division 1 Football
For football only, D1 competition is further divided into Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).Football Bowl Subdivision
FBS is the top level of collegiate football competition. It is comprised of 129 programs from large, mostly public, universities (with some exceptions such as Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Stanford), and includes all major teams and conferences. FBS games are televised nationally with 12 regular season games and a potential of a bowl game for teams that win 6 or more games. The FBS National Champion is decided through a 4 team playoff bracket with the two winning teams playing for the Championship. Athletes who play in the FBS will usually play in large stadiums of between 20,000 and 115,000 person capacity.
FBS schools recruit nationally and are very selective, with only 1 in every 100 high schoolers recruited to play there. Players wanting to play at the D1 level must meet the GPA requirements for recruitment (see article). Each program is capped at 85 scholarships per team and each team can recruit up to 25 scholarship players per year - however, each recruiting class typically has between 15 and 20 scholarship players. The NCAA requires that each scholarship must be awarded to a single individual and cannot be divided among several players. The teams have a roster of between 100-120 players and a staff of 30-50 people dedicated to football, with football-only strength staff, medical staff, recruiting staff, academic staff, and operational staff. What Does Fbs And Fcs Stand For
The gap between the biggest programs and the smallest is large. The University of Alabama spends $57 million more per year than the smallest program, University of Louisiana - Monroe. They spend $62 million and $5.4 million per year respectively.Football Championship Subdivision
FCS is the second highest level of collegiate football. This division is comprised of 124 mostly medium-sized public institutions. Games are sometimes on cable channels but are often available with a high-quality online broadcast. The teams play 11 regular season games followed by a 24 team playoff bracket. Athletes in the FCS will usually play in stadiums of between 5,000 and 25,000 person capacity.
Like the FBS, FCS programs are highly selective and only about 1 in every 40 high school football athletes will play in the FCS. Like FBS schools, FCS schools also have to follow the academic requirements set by D1 (see article). Most of the programs focus their recruitment regionally, but some schools such as those in the Ivy League will recruit nationally. The programs are capped at 63 scholarships and each team can give up to 30 scholarships to incoming players per year (Ivy and Pioneer leagues do not offer athletic scholarships). Unlike the FBS, FCS scholarships can be divided into partial awards, but most players get a full ride. The teams have approximately 11 full-time coaches and a roster of about 80 to 110 players. The teams typically share facilities and other resources such as the medical and academic staff with the rest of the athletic department.
The gap between the biggest and smallest programs in FCS is also large. James Madison spends the most money ($10 million) per year on their program, which is more than 25% of FBS schools. While 35 FCS programs spend less than $3 million per year.Division 2 Football
D2 football is comprised of smaller football programs (mostly regional public schools) that still offer some scholarships. The division hosts 169 football teams that play 11 regular season games and a 28 team playoff bracket. Most of the teams have a stadium capacity of between 5,000 and 15,000 seats and their games are mainly covered online.
Division 2 football teams are selective in the players their recruit, with only 1 in every 20 high school athletes making it to D2. Each athlete must also meet the GPA requirements set by the division (which are lower than D1, see article). Teams mostly recruit regionally and offer up to 36 full scholarship equivalents. While there is a cap at 36 full scholarships, each of those can be split up any way the school would like. For example, a school can give 36 full scholarships or 72 half scholarships. They can also give 30 full scholarships and 10 half scholarships and 4 quarter scholarships, etc. Additionally, many schools and conferences offer less than the full 36 scholarships. The teams have a typical roster size of between 100 to 140 players and a smaller staff when compared to D1 (comprised of a mix of full-time and part-time coaches). D2 football teams share facilities and support staffs with the rest of the athletic department.
The difference between the biggest and smallest programs are much smaller at the Division 2 level. 70% of programs spend between $1 million and $2 million per year. The program that spends the most, Northwest Missouri State, spends $3.6 million per year.NAIA Football
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) football consists of schools that are not associated with the NCAA. These schools are typically similar to NCAA D2. While there are NAIA schools in 24 different states, 69 of the 92 total NAIA schools are located in 11 states: Kansas (13), Iowa (9), Kentucky (7), Illinois (6), Missouri (6), Florida (6), Montana (5), Nebraska (5), North Dakota (4), Indiana (4), and Texas (4). NAIA has its own academic requirements that must be met before an athlete can receive an offer (see article).Division 3 Football
D3 football consists of the smallest NCAA football programs and does not offer athletic scholarships. The programs in D3 are mostly small private schools with a few small public schools competing as well. The division hosts 249 football teams that play 10 regular season games with a 32 team playoff bracket format. Most of the teams have a stadium capacity between 2,000 and 5,000 seats and the games are covered online.
Division 3 teams are still pretty selective, with only 1 in 13 high school players making it onto a team. While not mandated by the NCAA, Division 3 schools have some of the toughest GPA requirements because of the academic caliber of schools in the division (see article). These schools focus largely on regional recruits. While D3 schools do not offer athletic scholarships, they combine need-based financial aid with academic scholarships in order to reduce the cost for their athletes. In many cases, the combined financial package from a D3 school can be a better deal than a small athletic scholarship from a D2 team. The teams can have a large roster size of over 150 players, with a large percentage comprising of freshmen athletes because many D3 players quit during or after their freshman season. Like D2 schools, D3 programs tend to have a smaller staff with a mix of full-time and part-time coaches. The facilities and support staff are shared across the athletic department and sometimes with the general student body.
Only two D3 schools spend more than $1 million per year (Mary-Hardin Baylor and the University of St. Thomas), and most D3 schools are pretty even with over 80% spending between $300K and $700K per year.Junior Colleges and Postgraduate SchoolsFbs Football Definition
Junior Colleges (JC) and Postgraduate Schools (PG) can be a viable option for athletes who believe they are being under-recruited or athletes that do not have the grade point average that meets minimum requirements set by each of the NCAA divisions. These two options enable athletes to showcase their talents while they improve their skills, grades, and overall college readiness.

If you are a good athlete but your grades are not good enough, PG and JC schools are a good option to qualify and get recruited. PG programs will only make a small change to your GPA, so PG schools are best if you are very close to meeting the minimum requirements or if you can significantly improve your ACT/SAT test scores. JC’s are different, after 2 years and earning an AA degree, your high school grades and test scores will not matter for most schools. This can be a good option for athletes that are not close to the grades they need to qualify.
It is realistic for the average athlete’s recruiting interest to increase by one division from what they are getting out of high school, but it is not a guarantee. In most cases, it is best not to pass up existing scholarship offers in order to attend a PG or JC program with a hope that your options will improve, because they may stay the same or get worse. Additionally, both JC and PG options can be especially good for players that get injured before or during their senior year.
There are 133 JC schools and 84 PG schools and their scholarships are usually based on financial needs.Takeaways
*
All football divisions are very selective and few athletes end up playing at any collegiate level
*
Division 1 schools are the most selective and athletes and their families should know about the other options
*
Only divisions 1 and 2 offer athletic scholarships
*
Do not focus only on the big schools, because you may only receive offers from smaller schools. Keep your options open and visit schools from each division
*
Junior College and Postgraduate programs are viable options for athletes that do not academically qualify or have been injured during their senior year

Betting On Favourites

A quick search for betting on favourites on Google throws up hundreds of “fool-proof” systems for making money, which simply require your credit card details and a one-time payment of $100 to read about them. And one of the most common “systems” you will encounter is betting on favourites, because here we find there is some truth behind the lies.
*Live Betting Lines All Sports
*Betting On 2nd Favourites
A lot of academic research has been done into the so-called favourite longshot bias in betting markets. All winning betting strategies are based on exploiting market inefficiencies and when it comes to favourites there appears to be rather a large one in place. Put simply, favourites are much closer to “true odds” than longshots.
The answer is yes and no. You can make money betting on favorites but only if you are selective. Let’s take a look at what that means. Even if you add in a rebate, and you play every favorite in every race, you are going to lose money in the long run.
One major study you will find quoted in lightly researched articles on favourite betting is by two American academics who examined the results of over 6 million horse races in America and found backing favourites lost at a rate of 5.5% while backing from 3/1-15/1 lost at 18% on average.
The good news for bookmakers there is no matter what people bet on they lose, but it’s a significant difference between favourites and longer odds bets. Favourites are priced up more accurately than longshots. It’s also been shown to apply to other markets with particular application to political and novelty markets where it seems the shorter the odds the greater the bias.
That’s because betting on the Kentucky Derby is a great way to get a good return on investment. Here, are the best online horse racing betting sites, based on research: Bovada Intertops BetOnline MyBookie SportsBetting.ag So how do you place bets online? Sign up, or log into your favorite site; Select the race you wish to bet on; Place your bet. Historically, the betting choice, a.k.a. The favorite, has hit the Winner’s Circle at tracks all over the country at a fairly consistent 32% success rate. However, over the past decade or so I noticed that this rate of how horse racing favorites perform continued to creep up. A different angle might be to only bet on the races with 10, 11 or 12 runners. Doing this brings the number of races to 269 with 2,967 runners and the outcome is interesting. The first favourites won 66, second favourites 56, third favs 32, fourth favs 34, fifth favs 30 and sixth favs 10. So, If you decide to bet on low odds in tennis, you should take a good look on your favorite bookmaker’s terms and conditions. Furthermore, you’ve got to be careful when placing low odds bets on minor ATP Tournaments, concerning players placed lower than 150 in ATP Ranking, as upset results are more common than you can imagine.Favourites in Football
In the last 20 years a number of research papers have been published to see if this applies to football with confusingly mixed results. Some say yes, some say no and some say both. If you were hoping that a simple “always bet on the favourite” strategy was your route to profit, then think again. But there are some key lessons:
*Betting on the favourite is rarely a bad bet
*Shorter priced favourites are often better value than longer priced ones
*You need to do some work of your own
What various academic and recreational research from bettors has found is betting on favourites generally allows you to lose more slowly. This isn’t a great long-term strategy, but as a starting point it at least demonstrates that betting the favourite is rarely a bad bet. As a starting point, losing at a slow rate is a damn sight better than most punters manage.
For some bettors the nature of betting short-priced favourites seems counterintuitive to their notion of “value”. Risk reward is an odd concept, and betting £100 to win £20 on a 1.2 selection doesn’t seem hugely attractive to many, but research has shown this is often a better bet than £100 on a 1.8 shot in terms of expected long-term returns.
A good demonstration of this comes in rugby union, where New Zealand will often be priced at something absurdly unattractive like 1/80 to beat most sides outside the top six. But losses to those teams are extremely rare. In fact the All Blacks have never lost to an international team that isn’t Australia, England, South Africa, France or Wales. Never. How good does your 1/80 look now?
The All Blacks are perennial favourites. Their 2015 World Cup winning team is regarded by many as the greatest rugby team ever assembledWhen favourites betting goes bad
But if you are too cavalier with these kinds of stats you can come unstuck as South Africa showed in the Rugby World Cup where they were 1/100 to beat Japan. The Springboks had similar stats to New Zealand, having only lost internationals to 8 teams in their history. The loss to the minnows of Japan was the biggest shock of the tournament, but it should be seen as an exception and not the rule.
There were warning signs including an improving Japanese side a South African side that lost all three of its games in the Rugby Championship including at home to Argentina. And the final and most important point is you can’t just trust blindly in backing short-priced favourites and expect to never be stung for a big loss now and again.
Take the 2015/16 Premier League as an example of how favourites perform on a long-term betting basis. The 2014/15 season threw up a rather conveniently even 100 wins from 150 games where the home side was under 2.0. In other words odds-on to win. This would have given a total profit of £4.85 to a £1 level stakes bet. Pretty good.
The following season, by early February, there were 50 winners from 91 games for a total loss of £13.75 to the same level £1 stakes. The 2013/14 season had 99 winners from 143 games for a season-long profit of £1.21. So it shows that an expected long-term trend can sometimes go wildly off track. In Conclusion
So what does all this tell us? Well firstly that this is not an exact science and secondly that despite the 15/16 anomaly there is a lot of value to be had in odds on favourites. What it should encourage you to do is go and analyse the huge wealth of stats and betting data that exists for free on the internet and try and find your own conclusions.
Find a data source and play around with the results. Spot a pattern and develop a system that works for you by refining the data and using your own insight into what might make odds-on chances more or less likely to win. But don’t, whatever you do, fall into the trap of thinking a 1.20 bet doesn’t present value.

The latest 2024 presidential election odds show Vice President Kamala Harris as the front-runner over President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump at most European sportsbooks. For instance, Harris is +350 to win in 2024 at Bet365, with Biden at +400 and Trump at +600.
The thinking is that Biden may opt to let Harris take the reigns in the next Presidential election cycle, due to the fact that Biden will be 81-years-old three years from now.
The first deciding events are the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, which usually take place in February. Although the winners of these party-specific races aren’t necessarily shoe-ins for their party’s nominations, the results of these events can impact the odds greatly.
By the time Iowans and New Hampshirites gather to make their decisions, bettors in the United Kingdom and around Europe should have a good idea of who is in the running for the nominations of both parties. Despite all the historic precedent of renominating an incumbent, that isn’t a foregone conclusion for the Democrats in 2024.
Here’s a look at the current US Presidential Election odds at two UK books:Presidential election odds 2024CandidateBet365BetwayKamala Harris+350+400Joe Biden+400+400Donald Trump +600+800Mike Pence+1400+1600Nikki Haley+1400+2000Ivanka Trump+2500+3300AOC+2500+3300Dwayne Johnson+2800+5000Ted Cruz+3300+3300Michelle Obama+3300+3300Tucker Carlson+3300+3300Pete Buttigieg+4000+2800Liz Cheney+5000OTB
Given the recent historic turnout in Black communities in major cities around the country, Harris makes sense as the front-runner right now. It’s reasonable to assume the leaders in those communities could fire that machine back up in 2024 to get behind her.
The Democrats may want to maximize that momentum by nominating Harris instead of pushing for a second term for Biden. If they do so, that would be a first. So far in US history, no major party has ever opted not to renominate an incumbent when he’s been eligible for reelection.Live Betting Lines All Sports
That’s partially because ousting an incumbent president has proven very difficult in US history. Prior to 2020, it hadn’t happened in nearly 30 years. Here’s the full list of one-term presidents and their tenures in office:
*Donald Trump, 2017-2021
*George H.W. Bush, 1989-1993
*Jimmy Carter, 1977-1981
*Gerald Ford, 1974-77
*Herbert Hoover, 1929-33
*William Howard Taft, 1909-13
*Benjamin Harrison, 1889-93
*Martin Van Buren, 1837-41
*John Quincy Adams, 1825-29
*John Adams, 1797-1801
If the Democrats do nominate Harris in 2024, it will be historic for other reasons, however. No major party has ever nominated an African-American woman for president, for example.
Harris’ nomination could come in the same year as a historic nomination by the other party. The possible scenario has only played out one other time in US history. Can Donald Trump run again in 2024?
The short answer is yes.
Only Grover Cleveland has served two non-consecutive terms as president in US history, serving his first from 1885-1889 and his second from 1893-1897. Despite the fact that Trump just got the second-most votes for a presidential candidate in US history, there is one big reason why he may have an uphill climb to secure a third nomination from the Republican Party.
In June of 2024, Trump will turn 78 years old. That would make him the oldest major-party presidential candidate in US history, setting him up to be pushing 83 when his potential second term would end.
By a similar measure, Trump also had more people vote for his opponent than any other incumbent in US history. That’s another reason why the GOP may look elsewhere in 2024.
Vegas dave in jail. UK books currently favor Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, and Ivanka Trump to be the GOP nominee in 2024. Either Haley or Ivanka Trump would be the first female presidential nominee in the history of the Republican Party. Ivanka Trump would also be the first daughter of a president to receive such a nomination.Election betting explained
Often times, books will refer to markets on these contests as “futures.” That’s because they will settle the bets months or years into the future.
The lines on this event are called moneylines or straight bets. That means you’re simply picking a winner of the contest, with the margin of victory and other elements irrelevant for these purposes.
Using the 2020 presidential election as an example, UK books liked Trump as a strong contender. They started him out at +100 or “even money” then moved him to -150 throughout the cycle. His odds rounded out at +150.
That means if you put $100 down at first opportunity, you would have doubled your money exactly had he won. When his odds moved to -150, you would have had to wager $150 to make $100 in profit. At +150, you’d get a $150 payout on a wager of $100.What to monitor: polling data
Polling data is fluid and changes over the course of an election period. In the early stages like now (May 2019), candidates with the most name recognition tend to poll the strongest. That’s why on the Democratic side former VP Joe Biden and 2016 candidate Bernie Sanders were early polling front-runners.
As lower tier candidates who have difficulty fund-raising drop out of the race, and TV debates start crystallizing (or galvanizing) voter opinion, the numbers begin to consolidate around one-to-two front-runners heading into the primaries.
For simplicity purposes, monitor two well-respected polling aggregators:
*Real Clear Politics: Consolidates and links to the most respected polls.
*FiveThirtyEight Polls: Does the same but presents the information in a different way.Top 2024 US Presidential ContendersBetting On 2nd FavouritesDemocrats
In US history, no major party has ever failed to renominate an incumbent for reelection when he’s been eligible for another term. UK books feel that the Democrats will break that tradition in 2024, however, nominating Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris instead. Other frontrunners at these books include NY Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.Republicans
While Donald Trump is the frontrunner at UK books right now, current Vice President Mike Pence is the next top contender. After that, the field contains former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley and Trump’s daughter Ivanka.2024 Presidential betting tips
In terms of presidential elections, the candidates who most represent the opposite end of the spectrum ideologically often fare the best. For example, Barack Obama and Donald Trump were about as different as could be.
That’s usually following a two-term president, however. As 2024 will come at the tail end of Joe Biden’s first term and he may run for reelection as the incumbent, that typical wisdom may prove unreliable.
Watch candidates’ fundraising and polling as the cycle nears. That will be an indicator into which candidates to back at the books. Can you bet in the US?
So far, no states have allowed sportsbooks within their borders to take action on the results of any US elections. If that changes to any degree, TheLines will keep you updated on the progress of that movement.

We’ve written about volleyball as an overall sport elsewhere on the site, so you might want to check that page out if you’re interested in the sport more generally. Beach volleyball is a more specific version of the overall sport of volleyball, so we’ll be talking about it in those more specific terms here. It is, as the name suggests, the sport of volleyball but played on a beach. It involves two teams taking each other on by hitting a ball backwards and forwards over a net, trying to force a mistake out of the opposition in order to win points.

Unlike traditional volleyball, which sees the teams made up of six players each, beach volleyball has two players on each team. Points are won by getting the ball to hit the ground on the opponent’s side of the court and within the boundaries, by seeing the opposition hit the ball out of player or by the opposite team hitting the ball into the net. There are other ways of winning points, but they’re most common ones. The team that wins the point also wins the serve, with the person serving changing each time the receiving team wins a rally.
There are plenty of beach volleyball betting lines available, and while spectating a sport match you can always find additional entertainment in our mini games and slot machines. If you’re a fan of placing bets on random sports then you’ll almost certainly already know that doing so is quite tricky with the more obscure sports. You’ll be able to bet on the most standard markets regardless of the bookmaker that you’ve chosen to place your wagers with, including the outright winners of tournaments and match betting.
If you’ve like to place some more specific bets, such as on how many points there’ll be in a set or what the Correct Score of a match will be, then you’ve got two choices: find a bookie that specialises in beach volleyball or request a bet from your bookmaker of choice directly.
Don’t let that put you off betting on the gold medal winner of any given tournament, though, because you can usually find some good value in the market if you do your research first. The History Of Beach VolleyballWilliam George Morgan
Beach volleyball is simply a variant of volleyball, which was created in 1895 by a physical education instructor called William George Morgan. That its original name was Mintonette tells you one of the crucial factors about volleyball in its more formative years – it was based on the game of badminton, which is why the nets look similar. Morgan was friends with James Naismith,
who had invented basketball and, ironically given the extreme physical nature of the game that we know today, Morgan originally intended volleyball to be a less vigorous sport than basketball that older people could play. The Beach Version’s Early Years
The exact beginnings of beach volleyball aren’t known, though it is widely believed that it was created on Hawaii’s Waikiki Beach in 1915. George David “Dad” Center was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club based at the beach and put a net up on the beach, allowing people to play the game of volleyball on the beach for the first recorded occasion. It was in Santa Monica in California that the game began to progress, however. New jetties were installed on the beach there, which created more specific areas that the public could use for their enjoyment.
That was in 1920 and soon permanent nets began to appear on the beach. Soon the game began to spread to different areas of the beach, including in the private beach clubs that dotted the waterfront in Santa Monica. By 1922 official beach volleyball clubs had begun to be formed and within two years the various clubs were playing games against each other. In the early years of the sport’s development it mostly followed the same rules as indoor volleyball, meaning that the teams were made up of six players on each side. The Modern Game Develops
The idea of the game of beach volleyball differing from its indoor cousin is widely credited to Paul ‘Pablo’ Johnson, who was a member of the Santa Monica Athletic Club. The story goes that one day there were only four people present to play a game, so Johnson decided to see how it would work with two players on each team instead of six. In the traditional game of volleyball height was seen as an important factor, but in games where there were only two players on a team that height advantage could be negated if one of the players was quick and agile.
Soon this new two-man variation of volleyball began to develop in popularity, soon spreading to the public courts around the Santa Monica area. Games that were predominantly recreational in nature continued to have more players in the teams, but the official game of beach volleyball soon became limited to having two players on each team. The inexpensive nature of the game meant that it grew in popularity throughout the United States of America, particularly when the Great Depression struck the country during the 1930s and money became an issue for people.Tournaments Become Popular
As the 1930s grew into the 1940s, doubles games were popular enough to warrant tournaments. The first official tournament that offered a prize for beach volleyball players took place in Los Angeles in 1948. The winners were given a case of Pepsi as their prize. The tournaments became more and more popular to such an extent that by the 1960s there was a call to instigate a professional volleyball league in Santa Monica. Whilst that one wasn’t a success, another one was held in France and proved to be popular, if for no other reason than the prize had been improved from a case of Pepsi to 30,000 Francs.
As indicated by the French tournament, the game had begun to spread around the world and by the 1950s it had hit the home of beach sports, Brazil. The tournament there was sponsored by a newspaper publishing company, ensuring that it didn’t struggle for publicity. Not to be outdone, the Americans soon redoubled their efforts to ensure it was seen as the true home of beach volleyball and that culminated in the first Manhattan Beach Open volleyball tournament taking place in 1960. That grew in prestige over coming months to such an extent that it would eventually earn the nickname of ‘the Wimbledon of beach volleyball’.The Sport Becomes More Popular
There were many moments that saw beach volleyball’s popularity grow as the years passed. In 1950, for example, President Harry Truman’s staff members were photographed playing a game on the beach at Florida’s Key West resort. In the 1960s another President, John F. Kennedy, attended a tournament and gave the burgeoning sport a new found sense of prestige. Yet perhaps one of the key moments occurred when The Beatles turned up in the US and tried to play a game. After all, what better advertisement for a four person sport could there be than the most popular foursome in the entire world getting involved in a game?
The ever-growing sense of popularity surrounding the sport hit its zenith in 1974 when 4,000 fans of the sport turned up to the San Diego Sports Arena to watch Fred Zuelich and Dennis Hare take on Ron Von Hagen and Matt Gage in a match for the $1500.00 World Indoor Two-Man Volleyball Championship, which was sponsored by Winston Cigarettes. Zuelich and Hare won the match, with the latter going on to write ‘The Art of Beach Volleyball’, which was the first ever book on the subject. Beach volleyball could no longer be viewed as little more than a recreational distraction played by sun-tan chasing people on the beaches of Santa Monica. The Game Turns Professional
The development of beach volleyball as a sport reached its culmination in 1976 when the first professional tournament was held at California’s Will Rogers State Beach. That was the Olympia World Championship of Beach Volleyball, which was organised by Volleyball magazine’s David Will and offered the winners, Greg Lee and Jim Menges, $2,500 from a $5,000 total purse.
Volleyball magazine continued to host the event, eventually moving it to Redondo Beach in California after Wilk had joined forces with Craig Masuoka and formed a new sports promotion company called Event Concepts. In the years that followed the sport of beach volleyball’s popularity grew exponentially until the 1980s when high-profile players saw more fans coming to it than ever before. Arguably the culmination of this popularity was the 1996 addition of it the Summer Olympics’ official roster of sports. How The Game Is Played
As with other forms of the sport, beach volleyball is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, which publishes the Official Beach Volleyball Rules every four years. The FIVB both approves the rules and provides a framework for how the game should be played Internationally. As you might imagine, the rules have developed over the years to see alterations to both the size of the court and the way that points could be scored.
There are two players on each team and substitutions are not allowed. Players have to be within the court when the ball is served, with the exception to that being the player doing the serving. Unlike in traditional volleyball, there are no set positions that players need to occupy.
Points are scored when the following happens:Beach Volleyball Betting Rules
*The ball hits the floor in the opposition’s section of the court
*The opposition hits the ball out of play
*The opposite team commits a foul
*The opposing team is given a penalty
In order to be out of play the entirety of the ball has to hit the ground outside of the court, with the ball being in if any part of it touches the line that surrounds the court. It is also out if it strikes a player outside of the court who is not one of the players.
The ball must cross the net within the lateral boundaries and over the line of the net on the serve, not under it. If it doesn’t do so then the non-serving team will be awarded a point. Each set requires a team to win 21 points in order to win it, gaining a 2-point advantage at the end. If the two teams are within 2 points of each other as the set approaches its climax then it keeps going until one team is 2 points clear. The final set of a match is played to 15 points, with the winning team needed to win 2 sets to be declared the victors.
Each team is allowed three hits in total to get the ball back over the net and if they take a fourth hit then a fault will be called. Similarly a fault is declared if the same player hits the ball twice in succession. Players are not allowed to touch the net when playing the ball.
The teams must change ends every 7 points and every 5 points if it’s the deciding set. Points can be won at any stage, irrespective of which team is serving. The Equipment
In essence, the equipment used in beach volleyball is relatively simple in nature. There is a a ball and a net. Here’s what you need to know about each:
*According to FIVB rules, the ball used in beach volleyball has to be made of water resistant material that can survive being used in outdoor conditions. It needs to be spherical in nature and have a circumference of between 66 and 68 centimetres. It should weight between 260 and 280 grams, boasting an inside pressure of 0.175 to 0.222 kilograms per square centimetre.
*The net should be 8.5 metres long by 1 metre wide, with the top of the net standing 2.43 metres above the centre of the court in the men’s game and 2.24 metres in the women’s game.
*Each side of the net has an antenna that is 1.8 metres long and 20 millimetres in diameter attached to it. They are considered to be part of the net and stand at 80 centimetres in height, making up the lateral boundary of where the ball is allowed to cross withinThe Court
Whilst not technically part of the equipment used, the court is the other crucial part of a volleyball game. It is rectangular in nature and is made up on sand. The court’s measurements are 16 metres long by 8 metres wide, with a minimum of 3 metres clearance on the outside. There should be a clearance overhead of at least 7 metres.Beach Volleyball Betting Tips
The sand should be as level as it’s possible to get it, with any hazards and obstacles that could cause injury removed from it. Football handicap odds. The net sits exactly in the middle of the court, resulting in it being broken into two even halves. The court is denoted by two side lines and two end lines, which are 5 centimetres in width. The Major Beach Volleyball CompetitionsTournamentInformationFIVB Beach Volleyball World TourThis is the top-level tour that is organised by the FIVB, having first taken place in 1989 for men and 1992 for women. What do they think about online poker down in Columbia at the South Carolina Statehouse? The age and complexity of South Carolina gambling law makes that a tougher question to answer than it might at first seem. As a result, those who need definitive answers must consult a lawyer. Those who are seeking more information simply for their own edification should review the following list that briefly articulates the core aspects of South Carolina gambling law:
There is not a specific definition of gambling, betting or wagering found in South Carolina law.
Instead, South Carolina defines what it means to engage in gambling through the charge of “Unlawful games and betting” (Section 16-19-40). The section is quite lengthy and you should review it personally, but the gist is that any type of betting is verboten, and some games – those that use cards, dice or “gaming tables” – are illegal to play even if no betting is involved.
In fact, by the letter of South Carolina law it’s illegal to play any sort of game on Sundays. That’s from Section 16-19-70:
“Whoever shall keep or suffer to be kept any gaming table or permit any game or games to be played in his house on the Sabbath day, on conviction thereof before any court having jurisdiction, shall be fined in the sum of fifty dollars, to be sued for on behalf of, and to be recovered for the use of, the State.”
In addition to those charges, players could also be subject to a charge of “Keeping unlawful gaming tables” (Section 16-19-50), which reads:
“Any person who shall set up, keep, or use any (a) gaming table, commonly called A, B, C, or E, O, or any gaming table known or distinguished by any other letters or by any figures, (b) roley-poley table, (c) table to play at rouge et noir, (d) faro bank (e) any other gaming table or bank of the like kind or of any other kind for the purpose of gaming, or (f) any machine or device licensed pursuant to Section 12-21-2720 and used for gambling purposes except the games of billiards, bowls, chess, draughts, and backgammon, upon being convicted thereof, upon indictment, shall forfeit a sum not exceeding five hundred dollars and not less than two hundred dollars.”
South Carolina gambling law makes no mention of the Internet, online gambling or transmission of gambling information.
All money involved in illegal gambling – including money staked, bet or pending – can be seized by South Carolina authorities (Section 16-19-80).

We feel comfortable asserting that South Carolina will not legalize online poker sites at any point in the near term. The state’s historical resistance to gambling expansion coupled with a lack of any visible support for online gambling regulation suggest a dim future indeed for regulated online poker in South Carolina.South Carolina Gambling Facts
It pretty much comes down to charitable gambling (bingo only) and the state lottery in South Carolina. There is apparently an implied acceptance of very limited social gambling, but that’s more a matter of enforcement – South Carolina law itself does not make a direct exception for gambling in a social context.South Carolina: Regulated Online Gambling
There are no state-regulated forms of online gambling in South Carolina. There are states – Nevada, for instance – that issue online gambling licenses to certain operators, and there are other states that permit certain forms of online gambling under the law (such as online pari-mutuel wagering in Kentucky). South Carolina does neither.Learning More About Gambling in South Carolina

The same restrictions extend to online gambling, where residents or visitors to the state only have limited options. If you are looking to play for real money, you will find very few land-based options. This is because South Carolina has stayed true to its archaic and conservative gambling laws that were instituted over 200 years ago.

Dave Dave, born David Charles Rothenberg and later David Jordan Robinson,[1] (June 18, 1976 – July 15, 2018)[2] was a conceptual artist whose father was found guilty of attempting to kill him by burning in 1983, when he was six years old.[3]Attempted murder[edit]
David Rothenberg was six years old and living with his mother, Marie Rothenberg, in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York,[4] when his father, Charles Rothenberg, t, in California. The parents were divorced[5] and in conflict over custody of David; after the two argued on the telephone, on the evening of March 3, 1983, at a motel in Buena Park, Charles gave his son a sleeping pill and after he fell asleep, poured gasoline on the bed and set fire to it. He left the room and watched from a telephone booth across the street while other guests rescued David.[6][7][8][9]
Dave had third-degree burns over 90% of his body; he required finger and toe amputations[10] and received a total of more than a hundred skin grafts.[11] He was badly disfigured and during one grafting operation experienced brain swelling that led to seizures and other complications.[12] Charles Rothenberg, who stated that he had originally intended to kill himself as well as his son, was sentenced in July 1983 to 13 years in prison, the maximum permitted at the time for his offenses;[12] guidelines were changed as a result of the case.[9] He was released in 1990 on three years’ supervised parole after serving seven years.[11][13] After two years he fled, but turned himself in to authorities.[1] In 1996 he was tried for a shooting in Oakland,[14] at which time Dave, then 19, visited him in prison;[6][8][15] he read a statement to him in which he stated that Charles Rothenberg was ’not a father, but an imposter’.[9] In 1998 Charles Rothenberg changed his name to Charley Charles, and in 2007, after also being convicted of various offenses in two other states,[9] under California’s three strikes law he was sentenced to 25 years to life for weapons offenses in San Francisco.[6][15]Kamala Harris helped pursue the prosecution of Rothenberg in April 2005.[16]
David Rothenberg made television appearances, met celebrities including Michael Jordan,[10] and became a friend and protégé of Michael Jackson,[6][7][9] Marie Rothenberg married Richard Hafdahl, a police officer who had supervised the fire investigation, and moved to Orange County, California with David.[8][13] In 1985 she published a book titled David,[5] which was adapted into the 1988 TV movie of the same name.[17] In 2019, Marie Rothenberg and Mel White reissued her book as David’s Story: burned by his father’s rage, healed by his mother’s love[5] with update and additional material.Later life and career[edit]
Rothenberg attended ArtCenter College of Design.[7] By 1996 he was using only his first name;[9] he then legally changed his name to Dave Dave, to ’free myself of [Charles Rothenberg’s] name and his legacy’, as he said then.[8][9] He became a house music DJ, music producer and rap musician;[4] in 1996 he directed a music video for Kelli Lidell.[9] He later focused on conceptual art in Las Vegas.[6][7] His work included a project titled Lifted that he said grew out of ’a conscious desire to inspire others to be greater than themselves’[8] and collaborations with artists including Sheridee Hopper.[7]
Dave died on July 15, 2018, at the age of 42 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas from complications due to pneumonia.[6][18]Vegas Dave In JailReferences[edit]Vegas Dave Wikipedia

The Grand National has ended in chaos after a series of events at the start which reduced the world-famous horse race to a shambles.
An estimated 300 million people around the world were watching the race, held at the Aintree racecourse in Liverpool, live on television, when 30 of the 39 riders failed to realise a false start had been called and set off around the racetrack.
The Jockey Club was forced to declare the race void after several riders completed both laps of the gruelling 30-obstacle course and passed the finish line before they realised their mistake.
Aintree has said it is unlikely the race will be re-run, and bookmakers are faced with repaying the £75 million in bets placed on the race.
False starts
The disastrous sequence of events began seconds before the race was due to start, when protestors got onto the track near the first fence.
They were spotted, and after a delay, the race officials asked horses and riders to line up again.
This article lists the first, second, third and fourth-placed runners in the Grand National, a National Hunt horse race held annually over a distance of 4 miles 3½ furlongs at Aintree Racecourse in England. Then there were two false starts caused by horses getting tangled up with the starting tape. On the second false start, the recall flag, which signals riders to pull up once they have started, was not waved, and all but nine riders raced away.
The recall man, Ken Evans, is being interviewed by stewards to find out why he did not wave his flag.
Frantic shouting
The crowd shouted frantically at the jockeys to get them to stop, and officials tried desperately to flag them down from the side of the track, but without success. What Horse Has Won The Most Grand Nationals
In the end, 11 riders had completed the first circuit before pulling up, and seven never realised anything was wrong, racing right to the finish line in the four-and-a-half-mile (7 km) race. What Horse Won The Grand National Last Year Ago
Esha Ness, a 50-1 outsider trained by Jenny Pitman and ridden by John White, crossed the line first. ’I could see there were only a few horses around, but I thought the others had fallen or something,’ White said after the race.
Mrs Pitman, who became the first woman to train a first Grand National winner in 1983 with Corbiere, was devastated.
’This is no Grand National, even though I have won it,’ she said.
The owner of Esha Ness, Patrick Bancroft, is understood to be considering suing Aintree over the £76,000 prize money for first place.
David Pipe, spokesman for The Jockey Club, said there would be an urgent inquiry into the incident. What Horse Won Grand National 2020E-mail this story to a friend

Here, a vast difference is perceived in the abilities between both teams. Therefore, the team perceived to have the highest abilities will be given appropriate asian or goal handicap to level down the winning chances for the teams for the purpose of predicting or betting, the handicap goals in this form -0.5, -1, -1.5 goals and so on.If team A is given a handicap of -1 goal and you place a bet on the team to win then the team must win by more than one goal to cover the asian handicap. Split handicap: real handicap bet: outcomes +1.75 +1.5 and +2.00: If underdog wins the bet wins +1.75 +1.5 and +2.00: If underdog draws the bet wins +1.75 +1.5 and +2.00: if underdog loses 1-0 the bet loses +1.75 +1.5 and +2.00: if underdog loses 2-0 the +1.50 bet loses (as the underdog loses the handicap.

In handicap league betting, you place your bet at the start of a season, based on a selection of odds that feature different handicaps across all teams in the division. In soccer as is an all competitive sports there is normally a difference in perceived quality of the opposing teams; the size of that difference varies depending on a complex range of influences ranging from historical dominance and financial backing to situational factors such as home field advantage or player injuries/availability. Soccer betting interprets these factors and represent them as chances of success for each side in the form of odds.Handicap betting explained
Where the perceived difference in abilities is significant the betting odds on the favourite will be so small that it provides minimal returns and therefore little incentive for bettors.Handicap
A numerical figure set by the bookmaker to counter the perceived bias in abilities of opponents - this provides more balanced odds.
To counter the perceived bias in abilities, and to provide more balanced and appealing odds, bookmakers offer what is known as handicap betting. In the context of soccer, the Handicap odds level the playing-field by accounting for difference in perceived strength of the participants by literally applying a goal handicap - positive and negative - to each side. This gives bettors the opportunity to find more value than when backing a heavy Favourite in traditional 1X2 bet - the most common way to bet on soccer.
The handicap is applied to the actual outcome of the game in order to grade (result) the bet. There are three types of Handicap bets you need to be aware of before betting:Level Handicap
A level Handicap is where there is no perceived difference in abilities between Team X and Team Y, so no Handicap bias is assigned and both teams start with 0 goals.
To win a bet, the bettor must identify the team which they think will score more goals than their opponent. This type of handicap isn’t relevant for one-sided encounters but is useful in that it eliminates the draw; if the game ends in a tie all bets are refunded because on a zero handicap neither team has any advantage.Single Handicap
A single Handicap occurs when there is a perceived difference in abilities between Team X and Team Y.Football Handicap Odds
The alleged superior team will be given an appropriate goal handicap to level the playing field for betting purposes i.e. -0.5 goal, -1 goal, -1.5 goals etc.
For example, if you bet on Team X with a handicap of -1 goal, they must win by more than one goal to cover their handicap and win you your bet.
If they only win by one goal, the result with the handicap applied is a draw for betting purposes, so your bet is refunded. If Team Y draw or win, you will lose your bet on Team X.Split Handicap
A split Handicap occurs when the difference between the two teams’ abilities is small; allowing you to spilt your stake over two handicaps.A split Handicap occurs when the difference between the two teams’ abilities is small; allowing you to spilt your stake over two handicaps.
For example, Team X might be offered at (0 & -0.5). If you bet on Team X and they lose, you will lose both bets, as they did not cover either handicap.
If the match ends in a draw, half of your stake at (0) will be refunded, and the other half at (-0.5) will lose. If Team X wins however, both handicaps will be covered, so both bets win.
If you’re stuck in the past slavishly following three-way fixed odds betting, the chances are you’re not getting a decent return on your investment, and your betting might benefit from the fresh perspective that soccer handicap betting provides.

Handicaps look too complex to understand. But they are relatively easy to comprehend. They are also some of the best wagers in football. They also promise great value, which increases your returns on investment better than most bets. What is a Football Handicap Bet?
Handicaps are an alternative way to bet on teams with extremely high chances of winning and still get good returns.
Traditionally, betting on Juventus to beat lower side Parma means getting little returns for your bets. With a handicap bet, bookies award one or more goals to underdogs Parma.
Let’s say Parma gets two hypothetical goals at the beginning of the match. For your bet backing Juventus to be counted as a win, they must beat Parma by more than two goals.
Although it’s more challenging to predict that Juventus will beat Parma by +2 goals, the handicap will usually attract better odds. And because everyone football bettor is always looking for bets promising high returns, handicaps provide plenty high-value odds.European vs. Asian Handicap: What’s the difference?
Bookmaker bookmakers offer two kinds of handicap bets: European and Asian. There’s a slight difference between the two wagers, but it can make a significant difference in your betting returns.European Handicaps
European handicaps are typically listed in whole numbers. In an example, you want to bet on Liverpool to beat Bristol FC in the FA. A bookmaker could offer a +2 handicap so that your wager on the reds is only awarded if they win by over two goals.
If Liverpool draws, loses or fails to win by the specified margin, you lose your bet. Keep in mind you also lose if Liverpool wins by two goals. Your wager is only awarded if the reds win by three or more goals.
Asian Handicaps
With Asian bets, there’s the possibility of getting your stake back. Also, odds feature a decimal point format so that instead of +3 or -1 handicaps you get +1.65 or -1.75 handicaps. This makes Asian handicaps a tad bit challenging to understand.
Nonetheless, they share the same concept with European handicaps. One team perceived to be an underdog is awarded several goals before the start of a match. This also works by deducting the favourites one or more goals.
As we mentioned above, handicaps also come with improved odds. A game where Liverpool would get odds 1.20 for beating Bristol FC would mean odds 1.90 for the reds in a handicap wager. Needless to say, this would result in more returns for your investment.
So, when do bookies return your stake in Asian handicaps? If you wagered on two teams whose total handicap is +3 goals, it would imply they must score four or more goals for your prediction to be correct. If there were to score three goals, it would be counted as a draw.
But lucky for you, draws aren’t counted as losses in Asian handicaps. A tie is considered a push and you get your stake back when this happens.Should you bet on Handicaps?
Betting experts advise newcomers to gain gambling experience on regular wagers before branching into handicaps. It makes sense if you consider the amount of research you need to do be confident one team could beat the other by multiple goals.
Still, you can venture on handicaps as a beginner punter. European handicaps, for instance, are easy to play. They’re also available in nearly all top betting sites. Check a list of the best bookmakers with handicap bets on this page. Research betting markets skillfully and pick the best teams.Handicaps’ Betting Tips
Although some teams have a long history of defeating specific opponents by multiple goals, it doesn’t mean that will always happen. To help you pick the right clubs when betting in handicaps, use the following tips:
*Examine the importance of a match
Football teams relax all the time, mainly when tasked to play matches with little importance. But if a team is motivated to win a game for any reason, they will fight to win games. Of course, you want to find matches in which one side aims to win by huge margins.
In European knockout matches, for example, score lines can help determine which team qualifies. As such, teams will always try to score multiple goals.
*The Odds Given
Most handicap odds look impressive on the surface. But when you dig deeper to assess the competitiveness of a game, you might realize the odds are not worth the risk. As such, compare odds from different bookmakers and wagers and bet on matches that offer the best value.
*The Opponent’s Level of Motivation
Head to head statistics can help you identify teams to bet on. However, you should also use motivation to enable you to predict whether the favourites will be motivated to blow out their opponents in the next match. Motivation can also help you know whether the underdogs are better prepared or they will likely ship in multiple games.
*Playing Styles and Manager Philosophies
Some teams like Bayern Munich have no problem beating their opponents by +5 margins. They romped up FC Rottach 23-0 in a pre-season friendly over the summer. Man City also outscores premier league opponents by +2 goals consistently.
By comparison, former Man united Coach Jose Mourinho has a philosophy of scoring a few goals and defending them to the end. When wagering in handicap games, you want to back teams whose playing styles and manager philosophies lead to maximum goals scored. In ConclusionLive Asian Handicap Odds Football Tips
Handicaps are an alternative betting method for people that want to bet on traditional favourites and still get decent returns from the stakes. The wagers work by awarding or deducting one team several goals before the start of a match. For a bet to be considered a win, your preferred team must win by a specific margin of goals.Handicap Odds Football
Consider practising with European handicaps before trying out Asian handicaps as well. Also, use the tips shared above to help you identify the best betting matches.

Poker News Daily: You won your first bracelet during the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP), getting that proverbial monkey off your back. Is that the biggest poker accomplishment of your career?
Lindgren: It has to be. It was definitely a big deal. It was something that I really wanted and was looking forward to, so accomplishing it felt really good.
PND: Do your fellow poker players view you differently now that you’ve captured a WSOP bracelet?

Lindgren: Maybe the general public does. Within the poker world, people understand that it’s just a tournament and longevity proves what kind of player you are. That’s winning day in and day out and I think I’ve done that for a long time.
PND: Describe how you got started in poker.
Lindgren: I fell into it. I tried to play basketball in college and, due to work ethic, lack of skill, or whatever it was, it just didn’t work out for me. I stumbled into a poker room.
PND: You won two tournaments during Season II of the World Poker Tour (WPT). What gave you an edge over your competition?
Lindgren: I was playing a different game than most people were. I was ready for the No Limit Hold’em outbreak to happen. I was playing cash games and I think it was due to my overall experience playing No Limit as well as Limit. I was just very prepared to play these tournaments, whereas a lot of the pros were strictly cash game Limit players and they had to learn the game of No Limit.
PND: Describe how the landscape of poker changed following those two WPT victories.
Lindgren: The players have become younger and more talented. There is so much more knowledge about the game now. People work so much harder at their games now than ever before. Overall, the people are just much more talented.
PND: What’s the most challenging part of poker for you today?
Lindgren: The hardest part for me is keeping up with these young guys in terms of the new moves they’re making and trying to find counter-moves to the strategies they are employing.
PND: What advice do you have for newcomers just getting started in poker?
Lindgren: My advice is to take it easy and have fun. A lot of people ask me, “How do I know if I should turn pro?” I say that you don’t. There’s no need to turn pro. This isn’t like the NBA Draft; you don’t have to declare yourself to be a poker pro. Just play in your own time and have fun.
PND: How important is it to have a support group around you of high-profile poker players?
Lindgren: You have to have a group of friends to talk about hands. You get not only your experiences at the tables, but you also get theirs. That’s huge.
PND: Talk about your four rounds of under-100 golf in one day prop bet. What motivated you to win one of the most memorable prop bets of all time?Eric Lindgren Poker Player
Lindgren: I was angry at myself the day before. I had busted out of the $50,000 buy-in HORSE tournament and I thought that I played poorly. I wanted to torture myself the next day. I was out to dinner with Gavin Smith and said that I could walk four rounds of golf and the bet just kind of happened from there. I had some other guys bet against me and off I went.
PND: You represent Full Tilt Poker. Tell us why we should play on that site.
Lindgren: Having all of the pros there is a good base. You get to see that all of these guys support the site and endorse the site, so you can feel safe playing there. There’s a wide range of games; some of the highest limits are being played there along with games of every level.
PND: Whose game do you respect the most and why?
Lindgren: When focused, Phil Ivey. He brings more to the table. It’s very hard to lie to Phil Ivey. If you’re lying to him or bluffing, he’s going to figure it out. Don’t try to bluff Phil Ivey.
